Christmas

Christmas at Wahroonga Anglican

Christmas at Wahroonga Anglican

Christmas is upon us!  Let’s be honest, it has been a long time coming this year.  Perhaps we thought it may not actually arrive!  But here we are - perhaps tentatively as we look to the future, perhaps worn down by the past few years.  Yet, no doubt relieved that we actually get to celebrate with others this year. Here at Wahroonga Anglican we’d love you to be part of our celebrations.

Have a look below to see what we’ve got planned!

Carols in the Garden - Christmas Eve (from 4pm)

At St Andrew’s Wahroonga (2 Water Street)

9 Lessons and Carols - 9pm Christmas Eve

At St Paul’s Wahroonga (Pearce's Corner)

A traditional Christmas service of bible readings and carols, with organ and choir -  retelling the Christmas story, giving time for reflection on the edge of Christmas Day.

Late night Carols - 11pm Christmas Eve

At St Andrew’s Wahroonga (2 Water Street)

A contemporary Christmas service of bible readings and carols, led by a band -  retelling the Christmas story.  A great way to welcome in Christmas Day together.

Holy Communion - 8am Christmas Day

At St Andrew’s Wahroonga (2 Water Street)

A traditional service of Holy Communion, bible readings and carols, with organ - the perfect start to Christmas day, before all the noise begins!

Christmas Celebration - 9.30am Christmas Day

At St Andrew’s Wahroonga (2 Water Street) & At St Paul’s Wahroonga (Pearce’s Corner)

A contemporary celebration of Christmas for all ages - the perfect warm-up to your own Christmas festivities!  (services at both St Andrew’s and St Paul’s).

FAQs

What COVID plans are in place?

Those who visit are required to check in with Service NSW. You can scan the QR code on your phone or one of our welcomers can sign you in. Masks must be worn indoors, and so please bring one to each of our Christmas services (we will also have masks available). Please stay home if you are sick or have been in contact with COVID. You can see more details about our approach to COVID here.

How much does it cost?

All our events are free to come to, but you’re welcome to buy drinks and food at Carols in the Garden. At some services there will be an optional collection as you leave the service - this money will all be given as a gift from Wahroonga Anglican to support the work of Anglican Aid. You’re welcome to give, but please don’t feel compelled. There won’t be a plate or bag passed around.

Where do I go?

We meet at both St Andrew’s - 2 Water St, Wahroonga - and St Paul’s - Pearce’s Corner, Wahroonga, so just make sure of where the service is you want to go to!

If you’re going to St Paul’s, the car park is accessed as you’re heading south on the Pacific Highway towards Pearce’s Corner.

At St Andrew’s, there is street parking in the surrounding area.
